PRCS Sindh Conducts Humanitarian Session at JSMU Karachi

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (Sindh Branch) successfully conducted a humanitarian awareness session at Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU), On 19th May 2026 Karachi

The PRCS humanitarian session at JSMU aimed to engage medical and nursing students in humanitarian service. It also introduced them to the important role of PRCS in emergency response and community support.

During the session, participants learned about the broad range of humanitarian services provided by PRCS. These services include disaster response, emergency medical assistance, blood donation drives, and community health initiatives. Moreover, the session highlighted the importance of quick and effective emergency medical response during crises.

In addition, students and healthcare professionals received an introduction to the history of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. They also learned about its seven fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

The session focused on expanding the pool of trained medical volunteers. Furthermore, it aimed to build stronger partnerships with academic institutions. PRCS also seeks to improve its visibility among youth and healthcare professionals through such engagements.

Vice Principal of JSMU, Dr. Nazish, attended the session and appreciated the humanitarian efforts of PRCS Sindh. She encouraged students and healthcare professionals to actively participate in volunteer work and humanitarian services.
