Awareness Session on Climate Change and Road Safety at Brilliant Career Grammar School
An engaging awareness session on Climate Change and Road Safety was successfully held on October 22, 2025, at Brilliant Career Grammar School (BCGS), North Nazimabad Campus. The session was organized under the Global Climate Change Week initiative to educate young students about the importance of protecting the planet and staying safe on the roads.
The program featured an interactive talk on Climate Change by Ms. Sadia Tariq, Program Officer, Climate Smart Disaster Risk Management, who discussed the pressing environmental changes affecting Pakistan and their link to community resilience
The activity was jointly conducted by Ms. Sadia Tariq, Program Officer Climate Smart Disaster Risk Management (POCSDRM), and Ms. Izeen Naz, Youth and Volunteer Officer, both representing the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Sindh Branch. The interactive sessions aimed to help children understand Earth and weather changes appropriate to their age levels and the significance of road safety awareness in daily life.
Students from Pre-Primary, Primary, and Secondary sections actively participated in the event. Pre-Primary and Primary students enjoyed coloring images related to climate and safety themes, while Secondary students showcased their creativity through drawing and painting competitions reflecting their understanding of Climate Change and Road Safety.
A prize distribution ceremony concluded the session. The School Principal, Mrs. Rimsha Tariq, selected the top three paintings from the Secondary section for special prizes, appreciating the students’ effort and creativity. A special encouragement prize was also awarded to a child with mild autism, symbolizing inclusion and support for all learners.
To recognize the enthusiasm of participants, Pre-Primary students received chocolates, while Primary and Secondary students were gifted colors and paints. Mrs. Tariq expressed heartfelt gratitude to the PRCS Sindh Branch for organizing such a meaningful and interactive awareness session, promoting environmental responsibility and safety consciousness among young learners.
