A seminar titled “The Role of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh in Redressal of Public Complaints” was held at PRCS Sindh Headquarters. It was jointly organized by PRCS Sindh and the Ombudsman Secretariat.

The purpose of the seminar was to raise awareness about effective complaint resolution and transparent governance. Representatives from government departments, civil society, and key stakeholders participated in the event. They discussed how to improve public service delivery and ensure accountability.

Provincial Ombudsman Mr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput addressed the gathering. He said that in a population of 5.5 million, only 9,000 complaints were registered. This low number reflects a lack of public trust and awareness.

He shared that out of 9,000 complaints, 7,000 were officially received. More than 6,700 cases have already been resolved. He stressed the importance of awareness campaigns using media, social media, seminars, and open forums.

Mr. Rajput thanked the Pakistan Red Crescent Sindh for their support in outreach and advocacy. |

He also praised the Ombudsman Office for effectively handling public complaints in an organized manner.

Chairman of PRCS Sindh, Mr. Rehan Hashmi, opened the session by appreciating stakeholder participation. He emphasized PRCS Sindh’s ongoing commitment to community support and timely disaster response.

“Our team is always ready to respond during emergencies,” he said. “Our efforts during natural disasters are widely recognized across the province.”

The seminar aimed to increase public awareness of both institutions’ services. It also focused on how joint initiatives can improve public confidence and service quality.

Key speakers included:

  • Mr. Masood Ishrat, Registrar, Ombudsman Secretariat

  • Mr. Imdad Hussain Siddiqui, Director Coordination / CDJU

  • Mr. Kanwar Waseem, Provincial Secretary, PRCS Sindh
