Overview

Guided by the IFRC Health and Care Framework 2030, the PRCS Sindh Health Department works in both peace time and disasters to deliver essential medical and public health services. Our community-based approach focuses on disease prevention, health promotion, first aid, pre-hospital care, and mobile and static medical coverage through high-quality, patient-focused clinical care. We are also actively engaged in epidemic and pandemic preparedness and response.

From providing mobile medical services during large-scale emergencies such as the 2010 and 2022 mega floods, in support of universal health coverage, to operating a flagship training institute offering first aid and specialized health courses, PRCS Sindh continues to strengthen the province’s healthcare capacity.

We have successfully implemented large-scale routine health programs, including the Climate and Health Project (2024) in District Jamshoro (Sehwan). Under this initiative PRCS delivered cash assistance to pregnant and lactating women, family planning and reproductive health education, nutrition screening, rehabilitation of government primary health infrastructure, mobile medical services, youth mobilization and training, and dissemination of climate-smart health messages. The project also piloted community-based surveillance to enhance early warning systems for public health diseases.

PRCS Sindh has a proven track record in Community-Based Health and First Aid (CBHFA) programs, empowering local communities to take charge of their health and well-being.

With a wide network of primary and secondary health facilities in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, and Larkana, we offer holistic and affordable care. Our emergency health services are further supported by a dedicated fleet of ambulances, ensuring rapid response when it matters most.
